The Center of Preservation, Research and Reference (CPPR) of the Immigration Museum is purposed to safeguard, research and spread property references on the history of immigrations in São Paulo.
From the understanding that migrations are social processes likely to multiple analyzes, CPPR’s mission is to embrace and discuss possible approaches, thus qualifying other activities undertaken by the Immigration Museum. Given this premise, the CPPR staff is comprised of professionals in the fields of History, Social Sciences and Information Science.
CPPR works along with the other sectors in the Immigration Museum and establishes partnerships with other institutions, such as universities, research centers and immigration communities. Main activities include:
- Managing the collection of the Immigration Museum;
- Developing researches that can result in publications, exhibitions and/or cultural and scientific events;
- Identifying, organizing and spreading property references on the issue of migration in São Paulo.
