The exhibition “Migration: experiences, memories and identities” presents the preservation and research works carried out by the Immigration Museum about its main theme.
Divided into eight modules, the exhibition depicts the migratory process as a permanent phenomenon in the history of mankind, with a focus on specific contexts such as the big wave of immigration in the 19th and 20th centuries, migration policies, everyday life at the Bras Immigrant Hostelry and the contributions made by this process to the creation of São Paulo state and city.
However, the history of human migration should not be restricted to the past. Bearing this in mind, the exhibition promotes a dialogue with the contemporary world and the new waves of people who are crossing borders daily.
