About the program The Friends of the Immigration Museum program was created for people interested in being closer to MI. It is an initiative that offers the possibility of encouraging culture through socio-educational projects, contributing to the preservation of our history. Why to be a Friend by Museum? The Museum has exhibition spaces, a Preservation, Research and Reference Center, auditorium, garden, train station, shop, Época Portraits, cafeteria and the Hospedaria em Movimento environment – ​​a social area where the public can find small exhibitions and an exhibition module about the building. It also carries out periodic cultural programming and, annually, the traditional Festa do Imigrante, which receives more than 20,000 people, bringing together around 80 communities of immigrants and their descendants. Temporary exhibitions share with the public more specific themes about the migration process, cultural heritage and curatorial clippings on the Museum's collection. The Educational nucleus, on the other hand, works with specific projects focused on different types of public. The Friends of the Museum are fundamental for the growth and continuity of our projects. Benefits The Friend of the Museum Program has two categories, with different annual contributions.
